While most people are betting on the game, there are major betting pools around what color of Gatorade will be dumped each year. The practice has been around since the 1980s, when the New York Giants started dumping the barrel over Bill Parcells every time they won.

Since 2000, orange Gatorade was used most often, in around 1/5 of all Gatorade showers.

BONUS FACT

Many teams have colors that they frequently use. Historically, the Chiefs have used orange and purple. The 49ers have used clear.

However, red is the color of both teams and has never been used before, so this year might make history.
